Born in 1979, the Marseille-Cassis grew to become a international event. Its particularity: a flawless organization, a crazy atmosphere, and a unique atmosphere halfway between the Urban trail and the great road classic.
Today, the race sold out in a few days, proof that the magic is still happening.

The departure is at marseilles, Boulevard Michelet, and the finish is located on the picturesque port of Cassis.
The layout is both demanding and spectacular:

• Km 0 to 5 : get started in the city, be careful not to leave too quickly.
• 5 to 10 km : the gradual rise towards Col de la Gineste (327 m above sea level).
• 10 to 15 km : the technical descent to be negotiated well.
• 15 to 20 km : your legs are burning, but the sea and the crowds in Cassis bring you back to life.

Positive altitude difference: ~330 m.
Between asphalt, pine forest and panoramas of Calanques National Park, this journey offers as much beauty as it does suffering.

The secret to success? Three words: management, endurance and recovery.

• Work on your pace on hilly courses to learn to run uphill and downhill.
• Keep the juice to restart after the pass.
• Hydrate yourself : the heat in the South can be surprising, even at the end of October.
• Arrive early : transport between Cassis and Marseille is often the biggest logistical challenge.

Before attacking the famous Gineste, a short detour is necessary through the Marseille-Cassis Expo At Chanot Park (Palace of Europe — Hall 8). This is where all runners come to look for their precious sesame.
